Neighbors

I haven't posted for awhile. It's too cold here in Minnesota to take paintings out to photograph. I need to set up a photo studio in my basement so I can continue to post. I'm looking through my files to find photos that I haven't put on my blog yet. This one is of my friend Jane's house and her neighbor's in San Francisco.

Minnehaha Falls

These Falls are just a few miles from my home, so I have painted here often. In the spring there is normally plenty of water pouring over the falls to make an interesting painting.

Pidgeon River Falls

This is one more of the paintings I did at the Grand Marais Paint out.  These Falls are at Grand Portage.

Point Loma Light House

There are so many great scenes to paint in San Diego, I like to go there for a break from Minnesota winters.

Cottages

Even though you can't see the lake from this view, it was my favorite painting of the week. It was mid day and very warm. I went back to my cottage and sat in the shade looking up the hill and painted this in about 2 hours.

Two Light Houses

I went to Grand Marais, Minnesota on the North Shore of Lake Superior two weeks ago. It's a great place to paint. I'm happy with several of the paintings, so I will add them to my blog. This is the last one I painted. The view is from Artist's Point and probably has been painted thousands of times over the years.

Lake Pepin Autumn

Monday KSTP Channel 5 wanted to film me with some of my paintings of fall color. This is one of the paintings. There is an area on Lake Pepin, North of Alma, WI which is spectacular in the fall.  Lake Pepin is a widening of the Mississippi River. The glaciers missed this area when they flattened out the Midwest millions of years ago, so there are large river bluffs in this area.

Hootenanny Bread

This is the Bakery in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. I liked the light coming through the window creating  warm and cool color contrasts.

Peonies at Lake Harriet.

I like to paint these peonies each spring, but now the tree has been cut down.

LLamas and Lambs

This is  my first blog post. This was painted on a farm in Stockholm, Wisconsin.
